UFC FN 66: Neil Magny Scores Big in Manila

Neil Magny

Neil Magny continued his head turning run today at UFC Fight Night 66, and in fact, the welterweight will be heading back to the U.S. with an extra $50,000 (yes, yes, on  top of his fight purse).

If you missed it, because you weren’t willing to get up in the early hours of the morning to watch it, Magny stopped Hyun Gyu Lim at today’s event. The 27 year-old didn’t cruise to victory, however, as Lim punished Magny with some heavy shots early on. Magny recovered, however, and turned to his ground-and-pound game to score the second round stoppage.

The memorable win, which was Magny’s seventh straight, earned him “Performance of the Night” and an extra $50,000.

Jon Tuck also picked up a “POTN” bonus for his first round, submission win over lightweight Tae Hyun Bang.

“Fight of the Night” was awarded to flyweights Jon Delos Reyes and Roldan Sangcha-an. Delos Reyes won the fight by tapping the latter out with a first round, rear-naked-choke.

UFC FN 66 went down in Manila, Philippines.
