Former UFC lightweight Junie Browning today apologized for his alleged assault of three nurses at a Las Vegas hospital last week that resulted in him being released by the UFC. Despite his hospitalization and arrest, Browning has signed to fight Scott Cornwell at MMA Big Show: Onslaught in Indiana on November 28.
Browning’s apology is embedded below:

I’m no supporter of this guy, but I hope his personal demons don’t consume him, as they have other fighters in our sport…
But i’ll support him as long as he has the courage and integrity to admit his wrongdoing,
vow to change,(like he does here)
and most importantly back up his good words with good deeds.
These demons affect some of us in the sport and some of us not in the sport
Yea but how many times had we heard this gibber jabble come out of this dudes mouth already about changing blah blah blah.
Gets old
Apologies vary person to person and athlete to athlete. His future actions will indicate whether this apology is sincere. He did keep his nose clean from the end of his season of TUF until this…
Good on Junie for apologizing, and for not getting pissed at the UFC for cutting him, like some other fighters have done.
yeah i agree dude, i don’t like this dude at all, and i mean at all, this dude gives MMA a bad name and fuels the negative stereotypes but all that aside he is human and is allowed to make mistakes like the rest of us and i wish the dude the best and hope that he indeed puts all this behind him and learns from this and mattures a little but i wish the dude the best in his future.
any time you own something you know is wrong, thats character.. now to turn around and correct yourself, thats another thing all by itself.. heres hoping a wake up call for junie
I was kinda rooting for this guy to get his life cleaned up after TUF. I just figured he’d get in a serious fight camp and they wouldn’t have that crap. I think if he does clean up he could be really good someday
without considering his behavior, he needs a good camp anyway.. guy loves to bang, but i would love to see him channel his energies into being more well rounded… run it out on the treadmill or punch a bag if you think you are going to lose it Junie!!
Well hes not with the UFC anymore but he can still tell people he fights in the “Big Show”
He needs to get out of Vegas. Too much temptation for him in Sin City. He needs to do the Evan Tanner thing, and simplify his life. Go live in the woods by himself for a few days. And where ever he is, someone needs to be around to keep the booze out of his hands. But the more this kid stumbles, the more I want him to pick himself up and get his **** straightened out. He’s young enough that he can still turn himself around. But if the people around him keep letting him get out of control, he’s going to be that dude at the end of the bar that had all the talent in the world, and let it slip away.
I’m not sure “doing the Evan Tanner thing” is the best idea for Junie, it didn’t quite end so well for Tanner. No disrespect intended for Tanner, just pointing out facts.
I agree about getting away from temptation for Junie. Get someplace where it isn’t around 24/7. Head to Big Bear with Tito or something like that and just slow his life down a bit. Not necessarily go alone into the desert for a weekend without proper survival gear and training. LOL
This might finally get me to an MMA: Big Show event. I just wish the tickets weren’t so high.
He definitely needs to leave Vegas…He looked too into the life at the WEC last August.
I can vouch for one thing.
If you have any sort of impulse control or substance abuse issues, you should get your a$$ out of Las Vegas as quick as humanly possible.
It’s literally a party every night of the week here, regardless of whether you are a millionaire, or a guy parking cars or cleaning offices for a living…
Until the next time……….
An empty and hollow apology me thinks. Born out of necessity rather than genuine sorrow.
The guy is a moron and has been since we all first heard of him. If I never he his name again I’m good with that.
JCohl,
You are spot on….. You should have seen him….(for those that didn’t know Rehab was going on that day at the Hard Rock the WEC was there). The “talent” that was hanging on this kid and who hasn’t done anything was shocking… I love Vegas but I know my limits which comes from age and any 20 something out there with no life experience is fresh meat for the machine. There is no other city in the world where you can induldge like Shaun Kemp and Orson Wells…He needs to do his time in therapy and leave the sport for a while and go somewhere to get conditioned on how to behave like that budokaratehouse program or at least beg miletich to take him in….as long as he stays away from the riverboats for a while…
Dudes got some problems. I’t was funny watching him screw up on TUF but now its just downright sad.
The guy was a Tool in the TUF competition…..and he remains Tool to this day. It’s unfortunate that some people have been blessed with raw talent but choose to throw it away……
$25 ticket for MMA Big Show isn’t high. $40 balcony? Worth every penny. They always have amazing shows.
$25 a ticket for a local promotion is high when WEC charges that for their shows, likewise with the UFC for UFNs.
And the Bellator tickets I got were $18 a piece. $25 for a show with one known name is too damn high.
