Caol Uno vs. Fabricio Camoes Set for UFC 106
Lightweight Caol Uno announced during a Tuesday UFC press conference in Japan that he’ll be taking on newcomer Fabricio Camoes at UFC 106 on November 21 in Las Vegas.
Despite coming off a loss to Shinya Aoki, Uno (27-12-4) returned to the UFC in June, but suffered a unanimous decision loss to Spencer Fisher at UFC 99, his second-straight defeat and third in his last four bouts dating back to 2007. In his first stint with the UFC, Uno compiled a 3-3-1 record between 2001 and 2003.
Camoes (10-4) recently competed for Strikeforce, picking up a first-round submission of Torrance Taylor in his debut for the promotion in May after previously earning back-to-back wins in EliteXC in 2008. “Morango” has won seven-straight, including four-straight first-round stoppages.

I was almost expecting the next announcement from Uno to be that he was getting cut by the UFC, but I guess that they maybe see something in him that a lot of us just don’t see anymore.
Personally I’m glad to see him get another chance, and maybe he’ll score a vic against the newcomer…
Anyone know this new guy?
Dude I remember when Uno was a pretty decent sell and a good fighter. It just seems like all the guys are just much more athletic than him. Does anyone know where he trains?? If its in Japan, I think he should get out of his comfort zone and go train with some gamers cause he’s got the skill.
I remember when BJ Penn put him to bed w/o dinner in 11 seconds
its always good to see Uno and his fight v Fisher wasn’t half bad actually
Not too much apart he’s a black belt JJ fighter under Saulo Ribeiro and won the 2005 European JJ Championships. Having won 4 straight 1st round stoppages shows he has something about him, may well cause Uno a few problems.
