Johny Hendricks vs. Ricardo Funch Slated for UFC 107 in December
Undefeated welterweight prospect Johny Hendricks will return to action at UFC 107 to square off against unbeaten newcomer Ricardo Funch on December 12 in Memphis, Tennessee, MMAjunkie reports.
The Brazilian Funch (7-0), a member of Team Link alongside Gabriel Gonzaga, brings a perfect 7-0 record to the UFC after signing a four-fight deal with the promotion in September. “Golden Boy” has not fought since an August 2008 victory over Denis Grachev and has earned stoppages in five of his seven wins.
Hendricks (6-0) won back-to-back fights in the WEC over Justin Haskins and Alex Serdyukov before making his UFC debut in August with a first-round knockout of Amir Sadollah.
UFC 107 is headlined by lightweight champ BJ Penn vs. challenger Diego Sanchez and also features, Kenny Florian vs. Clay Guida, Cheick Kongo vs. Frank Mir, and Paul Buentello vs. Todd Duffee.

hey…i fight for team link with funch, and while hendricks may be a dominant wrestler funch is a 2nd degree purple belt on way for brown in bjj, and has won 2 tournaments by beating black belts in the finals..i wouldnt underestimate his ground game
Fiveouncesofpain.com, is reporting that either Kimbo or Houston have been approached about a matchup for 107.
I’ve got Houston by Gogoplata RND 3.
1. 5oz is unreliable.
2. They have both been talking about December UFC fights.
3. Lets face it, they each need an opponent that will keep the fight standing.
4. Kimbo has mentioned the ability and willingness to cut to 205.
5. Alexander’s last fight was at heavyweight.
This is a match up that could make sense, and both men are fighting in December, but as far as I know, there is nothing concrete on this yet, just internet rumors and speculation.

I’m looking foward to seeing hendricks again.if that fight with amir was any indication he might be a force in that division.But i’m not quite convinced yet.I also hope that buentello beets the hell out of duffee,there was just something about his attitude after the fight i didn’t like.
Hendricks should definitely get the victory here.
His striking skills have shown to be effective and we all know he is a phenomenal wrestler. I think its safe to say he is one of the best wrestlers in all of MMA today…
