Although Max Holloway has been ridiculously impressive since his decision loss to Conor McGregor a couple of years back, the rising featherweight is clearly still haunted by the defeat.
Since Holloway was decisioned by McGregor in August, 2013, “Blessed” has gone on to win six straight. The latest victory, of course, was his memorable, submission win over Cub Swanson at UFC on FOX 15.
Well, while speaking after his victory on Saturday, here is some of what Holloway had to say about McGregor (quote via UFC Press):
“I want to beat the guys who beat me and I want that win back over Conor McGregor. He keeps saying the only reason he didn’t finish me is because he had a hurt knee. It’s disrespectful. So, let’s test that. I’d love to fight him again, but I’ll fight anyone any time, any place.”
McGregor is booked to fight featherweight champion Jose Aldo on July 11th at UFC 189.
