A unification matchup between WEC lightweight champ Jamie Varner, sidelined with injuries since his January title defense over Donald Cerrone, and interim title-holder Ben Henderson is expected to take place in early-2010 in Arizona, both fighter’s home state.
Originally targeted for December, Henderson’s five-round battle with Cerrone on Saturday at WEC 43 forced the fight to be postponed until January or February, according to MMA Fanhouse.

I will definitely be pulling for Henderson to beat Varner, then Varner and Cerrone can fight again to see who gets a rematch with Henderson.
Hard to root for Varner, especially after the performance Henderson delivered the other night…
Varner dodge the bullet on that rematch with Cerrone,,bet he’s thanking his Henderson for that..Henderson will take that easy,,
YESS!!!! An event finally coming to AZ! THIS IS AWESOME NEWS!
Even though im not a fan of either fighters. Im for sure going to get tickets to this if it does indeed take place here. Wow.
I can’t wait. I wonder if they will book the purple palace.
