i think that thw fight should have totally went a different way here is my opinion:

1st round:donald cerrone with his stand up and his submissions
2nd round:henderson for his take downs and his g&P
3rd round:henderson looked like the same as round number 2
4th round:cerrone with his takedown defense and his submissions
5th round:it was close but cerrone with his up kicks and his submissions

nothing bad about henderson but cerrone won that fight and i dont like the judges making bad calls but who am i to say that he won im not a judge they are and this is my own opinion.

Bottom line, something needs to be done. Dbiz, i’ve noticed you never have anything productive to say, you’re constantly sitting on the side-lines and you pop your head out here and there just to complain about what someone else has posted. Get real dude. Your hypocrisy makes me laugh. jcohl KIND of touched on it, but then went off track again. I will keep “crying” about it because i feel it f**kin is ruining the sport. Sue me. Just wait until something IS done about it and then we can hear how you guys have been waiting/for this for a long time blah blah….narrow minded. Just because it’s hard doesn’t mean it can’t be done. Get real. If it ain’t easy, don’t do it??! Is that how you go through life? Hmmm…anyways, there’s enough controversy over reffing/judging and is only going to get more and more attention. Sorry pal. Suck it up and deal with it. Needs to be discussed. Now Franklin is comin out about “illegal” blows, the Assuncao fight, Hendo, Franklin and on and on and on it goes….so dbiz, you going to counter my post with how you disagree and how i should just stop talking about it again? The only way something like that could be done was if the UFC launched a long, slow, painstaking state by state initiative to install some new sort of MMA judging system.
No other MMA org has the resources and manpower to even attempt it.
Something like that would be expensive, not to mention time consuming and labor intensive.
Also, the UFC would bear the brunt of the workload, and to what purpose exactly?
Rematches can always be signed, and if in some unimagined fight the decision was SO horrific, the UFC, or any other MMA org, could simply refuse to recognize the result, and order a rematch.
The judges can be state selected all they want to, but the UFC, Strikeforce, etc, are private orgs, with their own rules.

And how would you go about reforming the judging in over 30 separate states? The UFC/WEC/Strikeforce/Zuffa/whoever have nothing to do with the judging – it is up to the state athletic commissions to supply the judges.

So…how do you “force” the states to do this? I would like you to come up with a plan instead of just crying about something you don’t like. Otherwise, you are bringing nothing to the table.

I also agree with the out-come of this fight, i think it came off wrong… i was just bringing attention to the judging in general…. i agree with the outcome of this fight though…

So, the judging in the Assuncao fight was odd. The judges still managed to make the right call in the Henderson fight, and the guy that got the other end of that agrees.

couldn’t agree more. guys like this are what the UFC wants. they want fighters willing to put on a show and work hard. it helps when they show some class even after a tough loss.

“The Raphael Assuncao vs. Yves Jaboiun fight at WEC 43 is a really good example of why MMA judging needs to be reformed. In the fight, Assuncao won all three rounds on one judge’s scorecard while Jaboiun won all three rounds on another judge’s card. If the scoring of points is based off of skill and technique, than how can both fighters win three rounds? These judges have no idea how to score a fight and need to be replaced. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen some strange scoring in a fight….” –
