Ronda Rousey Tells Roddy Piper “There’s Nothing Like” Performing For The WWE

Last month, Ronda Rousey lit up the internet by performing at Wrestlemania, and it sounds like the UFC champ loved it so much, “Rowdy” is pretty, pretty, eager to do it again.

Yes, if you missed it–or just blew by the headline since included the letters W W E–Rousey was called into the ring by “The Rock” at the March 29th event, and yadda, yadda, yadda, Rousey showed Stephanie McMahon and Triple H a few moves… The appearance was apparently so well received by fans, that immediately there was widespread speculation as to whether Rousey would end up doing more pro-rasslin in the future.

Well, recently Rousey appeared on pro-wrestling legend Roddy Piper’s podcast, and here is some of what she had to say about the experience, and her desire to do it again (quotes via MMA Fighting.com):

“I hit the ground running,” Rousey said. “The first I ever wrestled was at Wrestlemania with an attendance record at Levi’s Stadium. I had a problem when I left. There’s no way I can’t not go back in there again. There’s no way. After experiencing that, there’s nothing like it.

“The second I left I was already thinking, ‘How can I possibly go back?’ I didn’t even change [clothes] yet. I hadn’t even gotten out of my outfit yet.”

Rousey reportedly went on to add that the “uncertainty” of a fight, and the mental challenges involved in MMA, ultimately win out over pro-wrestling for her. But clearly, if the UFC signs off on it, WWE fans will likely see Rousey make an appearance or two in the future.

As as the bantamweight champ’s next real fight, Rousey is scheduled to face Bethe Correia on August 1st at UFC 190. The card will go down in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Correia is coming off a stoppage win over Shayna Baszler last August and has gone 3-0 to date in the UFC.

Rousey, meanwhile, extended her reign in February by quickly tapping out Cat Zingano.
