Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic and Gabriel Gonzaga both left the Octagon today with sizeable bruises and cuts, but thankfully for them, they picked up an extra $50,000 each…
After UFC Fight Night 64, the promotion announced that the heavyweights earned “Fight of the Night” honors for their main event scrap. The fight saw Gonzaga cruise ahead on the scorecards by taking “Cro Cop” down and landing strikes from above. In round three, however, Filipovic rallied and closed the deal with a brutal flurry of elbows.
One of the card’s “Performance of the Night” bonuses, and $50K, went to Leon Edwards, who took out Seth Baczynski with punches in just eight seconds.
The other “POTN” was awarded to Maryna Moroz for her memorable, armbar submission win over Joanne Calderwood. The strawweight also collected an extra $50 grand.
UFC FN 64 was hosted by the Krakow Arena in Poland.
