Conor McGregor may be one of MMA’s fastest rising stars, and while his fanbase continues to swell, it’s no secret the featherweight has more than a few haters. After all, we are talking about one of the biggest, if not the biggest, trash talkers in the sport.
Case in point, if you watched the UFC 189 World Championship Tour’s “Embedded” run, then you got to see McGregor repeatedly insulting one of the sport’s greatest in Jose Aldo. Sure, Aldo returned fire and did so frequently, but McGregor blazed the internet by doing things like grabbing the championship belt…So, McGregor’s antics during the tour probably thrilled many of his fans and threw Aldo’s into fits.
Well, recently BT Sport had McGregor read some of the meanest tweets he’s received in a lil while, and if you check it out, you’ll see he takes the bashing in stride. You can watch the entertaining segment below.
McGregor and Aldo are set to throw down on July 11th at UFC 189. McGregor has locked up a title shot thanks to a five fight winning streak in the UFC, which includes wins over Marcus Brimage, Max Holloway, Diego Brandao, Dustin Poirier and most recently Dennis Siver. The Irish fighter has scored stoppage wins in four of them.
Aldo, meanwhile, has won all seven of his UFC bouts to date, and the Brazilian fighter went 8-0 during his time with the WEC. Hence, the whole ‘greatest featherweight of all time’ thing.
