Jose Aldo Says Conor McGregor Snatching His Belt is “The Best he Can Do”

Most people believed Conor McGregor would take things up a notch at yesterday’s World Championship Tour in his native Ireland, and the brash fighter did just that. If you missed it, McGregor snatched the featherweight belt away from champion Jose Aldo at the press conference, and of course, things got pretty intense.

That wasn’t the only memorable incident at the press conference, however, as Aldo was repeatedly trashed by the partisan crowd. So much so, if you’re a big time Aldo fan, the event might have sent your blood pressure through the roof.

Well, after the jaw dropping event, here is some of what Aldo had to say to UFC Brasil about McGregor’s belt snatch (quotes via MMA Fighting.com):

“I didn’t feel anything,” Aldo said. “That’s the best he can do because next time he’s in front of me, I will beat the sh*t out of his face.”

“Now it’s time to go home, train and train,” Aldo relayed. “Brother, I will run through him like a runaway truck. I will smash him.”

Yup. It certainly looks like McGregor has riled Aldo up and then some, but the champ doesn’t appeared to be intimidated either. If Aldo is, he’s doing a really good job of hiding it.

While McGregor’s antics aren’t everyone’s cup o’tea, there’s no doubt that “Notorious” has done his part and then some in making the fight massive.

Aldo-McGregor will headline UFC 189, which will go down at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas in July 11th. Welterweight champ Robbie Lawler is also booked to fight Rory MacDonald at the card.

It’s going to be a fascinating night.
