After Alan Jouban buzzed the MMA world last weekend by knocking out Richard Walsh at UFC 184, he relayed he wanted to fight on the promotion’s upcoming card in New Oreleans. Well, clearly the promotion was listening, as the UFC has granted the rising welterweight his wish.
The promotion has announced that Jouban well take on rugged vet, Brian Ebersole at UFC Fight Night 68, which will be hosted by the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on June 6th.
The 32 year-old Jouban (11-3) moved his UFC record to 2-1 with the win over Walsh, as “Brahma” was coming off a tightly, contested, decision loss to Warlley Alves. In Jouban’s UFC debut last August, he knocked out Seth Baczynski in round one.
The 34 year-old Ebersole (51-16-1), on the other hand, worked his way to a split decision win over John Howard in hist last fight, which went down in September. The ridiculously, experienced fighter has gone 5-2 in his UFC run so far.
So, that’s an interesting match-up for Jouban, as Ebersole is extremely durable and crafty.
The UFC has also announced that a heavyweight fight between Derrick Lewis (12-3) and Shawn Jordan (17-6) has been booked for UFC FN 68.
