the guy that got the 7 second ko vs the guy who got koed by arlovski in 15 seconds. nice dont blink

  • chrisl says:

am i the only one that thinks they’re bringing all these old UFC guys back just to dry up the market?

  • wellfire says:

some of the guys they brought back are ressurecting their careers, trigg didn’t look good obviously, buentello has looked good in his last two fights. Vitor has looked good. Cro Cop is done, if they brought back silvia or arlovski i’d be concerned

    • love4thedead says:

Why would you be worried if they brought Arlovski back. Just becuz he has had a bad couple of fights he’s done, yet Houston gets ko’d all the time and people still think he belongs in the ufc. Complete bs.

      • wellfire says:

arlovski is a has been, not exciting to watch anymore, thats why it causes concern. Whats he been up to the last 3 0r 4 months anyways?

      • love4thedead says:

He’s on a 60 day medical suspention after his loss to Rogers. How is he not exciting to watch, he was beating the crap out of Fedor before he made a mistake and got caught. He stands and bangs with everybody.

      • Justin says:

        love4thedead,
How is Arlovski not exciting to watch? Go back and watch the second two of his bouts with Tim Sylvia.

      • ufcmanz says:

I mean Arlovski hasn’t looked the best in a few fights, but he’s still young and in his prime , kind of reminds me of Belfort , when he’s losing “he hasn’t got his head on straight and washed up” but when he’s winning everyone all a board the Arlovski express. He’s only 30 years old , Like Belfort he came into the UFC and ran through people with raw talent and quick hands, he just needs to get his sh!t together and get in with the right gym like Belfort did with Couture ,maybe a team quest / Jackson’s / or Couture, someone who can keep him focused and teach him something at the same time. Why is Big Ben in the UFC then he loss to a has been??? “right”

      • love4thedead says:

Justin that’s a valid point, those were boring it happens. Does every fighter you cheer for are their fights wars, not trying to attack you by any means. Just trying make a point not every fight can be a barnburner.

        @ufcmanz
        Good points all around

      • Justin says:

        UFCManz,
Big Ben has a smaller price tag.

        love,
I get what you’re saying. I wouldn’t say that Arlovski is not exciting. My point in posting that was to go ahead and get it out there why some people say that he isn’t. He’s had times where he’s been unwilling to pull the trigger, then other times when he does pull the trigger, he gets caught.

      • love4thedead says:

Justin that is true. I can’t argue with that.

      • ufcmanz says:

My comment was directed at Wellfire …not you {Justin or Love4thedead} I mean why isn’t Arlovski putting the trigger ..Arlovski is just not himself for a while, it could be a mental think {is the trigger jamming on him } or not the right training { is he just not fireing the gun the right way }, but he just needs the right people around him {someones who’s going to tell him to stop the Boxing dream and get down on the mat and practice some BJJ }and he could become top 5 heavyweights again

  • petterson says:

buentello is good, fast hands but tod duffe is athletic and has serious power, duffe will knock him ouut

    • love4thedead says:

I’m not a fan of Pauls but he’s got ko power to. This is a dangerous fight for Dufee, who I will be rooting for.

      • BuzzBradski says:

I see this as a dangerous fight for Duffee as well. Specially now that he has outed himself as a quick starting power puncher. Paul is smart enough to maneuver and pick his shots as he did against Kirill.

Then again, it might not last 15 seconds.

  • L1E4X5 says:

I think if Todd Duffee fights someone younger and stronger (Junior Dos Santos?) I think he’ll lose.

    • ufcmanz says:

I like Dos Santos ,but the problem he’ll have with Duffee tho is Size giving up 15 pounds or so, and Duffee has the reach and throws straight shots , well Dos Santos is more looping punches.. could be a long night for Dos Santos if he doesn’t get inside on Duffee. I think the UFC may put Duffee up again someone more like Gonzaga or Herring{not sure where Herring is tho} if he gets passed Paul. As far as younger and stronger goes Duffee’s{23} / Dos Santos{25} ,plus Duffee is stacked 6′3 251 lbs / Dos Santos 6′4 236 lbs.

  • jcohl says:

As it relates to this fight, it seems a little to me like the UFC is bringing back some once noted fighters to both test and promote their younger talent.
I’d be surprised if Duffee didn’t score a first round KO against Buentello.
And thats not to disregard Buentello, but doing well in places like Adrenaline or Affliction or wherever is NOT the same as doing it in the UFC. Maybe I’m wrong, but I think Duffee is being groomed to take his place with the rest of the rising HW class of the current day UFC.
A crushing win over someone like Buentello will help his confidence, look good on his record, and get him to the next level of his career.

As it relates to someone like Herring, or Arlovski, it’s clear that these men need a change in training camps if they are to remain relevent in MMA going into the end of the year.
Herring might be beyond help, as it seems that he’s doing better in Hollywood than he did in multiple outings in the Octagon.
Arlovski is still a star, in spite of his recent lapses, and is another guy like Belfort who should call Randy Couture and ask for help getting his head and heart right for the sport.
Couture’s fighting career is sadly winding down, but with the men flocking to or already training at Xtreme Couture, it seems like his training career is ramping right up.
IMO in 3-4 years Couture will be regarded at the Greg Jackson level of trainers, and Xtreme Couture is already considered one of the top 3 or 4 camps for MMA on the planet, that is assuming that the Natural doesn’t become the first 50 year old UFC champion…
    ;)

  • I haven’t seen enough of Duffee to form a judgement but I am pulling for King Paul in this one. Paul is tough and he always comes to fight. Todds 5 fights might not be enough to pull one over on ole Buentello.

    • jcohl says:

You may be right, but I’m thinking that Drago’s superior speed and size will counteract Buentello’s experience…

      • Duffee does has some size to him, that is for sure. I should check YouTube for some of his other fights. The 7 seconds I’ve seen of him wasnt enough lol.

      • love4thedead says:

        Fighttrends
I agree with you on Paul. Paul has a lot of skill and most likely will take this fight. I still however will be rooting for Duffee to headhunt the headhunter and pull out the upset.

  • ufcmanz says:

BJ Penn vs. Diego Sanchez / Frank Mir vs. Cheick Kongo / Kenny Florian vs. Clay Guida / Todd Duffee vs. Paul Buentello ,what a fun action packed card I cann’t wait to see the 5th fight on the main card which one is it going to be Wilson Gouveia vs. Alan Belcher or Thiago Alves vs. Paulo Thiago very nice night of fights

  • Vinz_Clortho says:

mmalinker.com has all the fights you will probably ever need :)
