If you recall, the May 23rd card will see light-heavyweight champ Jon Jones take on Anthony Johnson in the main event, and in the co-headliner, middleweight champ Chris Weidman will take on Vitor Belfort. Other bouts that are set for UFC 187 include Travis Browne vs. Andrei Arlovski, Donald Cerrone vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov, and John Moraga vs. Joseph Benavidez.
So, clearly the card isn’t lacking for high profile and important scraps.
Dodson (16-6) hasn’t fought since last June when he scored a TKO win over Moraga, as “The Magician” has been sidelined with a knee injury. Dodson is 4-1 in his last 5 bouts.
Makovsky (19-5), on the other hand, fought last weekend at UFC FN 60 and earned a decision win over Timothy Elliott. The former Bellator champ is also 4-1 in his last 5 contests.
UFC 187 will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
