The Ultimate Fighting Championship is doing its best to get fans talking about something else other than PEDs, as the promotion has revealed that its May 23rd card in Las Vegas, will be a ridiculously stacked event…
Yes, if you missed it, the promotion has confirmed that UFC 187 will feature light-heavyweight champ Jon Jones (21-1) taking on Anthony Johnson (19-4), and middleweight champion Chris Weidman (12-0) versus Vitor Belfort (24-10) (assuming the fight isn’t postponed for the fourth time of course…).
Now, if those bouts, for some reason, don’t have you buzzing about the event quite yet, check out the other fights that have been booked.
The expected bout between Khabib Nurmagomedov (22-0) and fellow lightweight contender Donald Cerrone (27-6) has a date, as they’ll also scrap at UFC 187. In addition, the UFC has confirmed that Travis Browne (17-2-1) will take on fellow, heavyweight contender Andrei Arlovski, and that Joseph Benavidez (21-4) will face fellow flyweight contender John Moraga (16-3).
So, you’ve got two title fights, and three, pivotal / contender bouts scheduled for the event. That sounds about right huh?
UFC 187 will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
