On Tuesday, Combat Press reported that sources have informed the outlet that the UFC is hoping to book Hunt-Miocic for a May 10th card in Adelaide, Australia. Sources have also told MMA Fighting.com that the promotion is trying to sign the fight for the event’s headliner.
Hunt (10-9-1) will be looking to get back on track after he was stopped by interim champ Fabricio Werdum in November. Prior to that the New Zealand fighter scored a walk off, KO win over Roy Nelson in September.
Miocic (12-2) had his three fight winning streak snapped by Junior dos Santos in December, as the American was decisioned by the former champ at UFC on FOX 13.
So, that’s a pivotal, heavyweight fight that definitely looks good on paper no? Hopefully the UFC gets it done.
