cant wait for this fight! everyone is talking about cro cops left kick, but he never throws it, and IMO he looked less then impressive in his eye poke win over al turk. im taking the underrated dos santos by ko, rd 2.
Mirko CroCop needs to win this fight if he plans on earning some money stateside and in the UFC, and the promotion needs CC to win because he needs to establish some credibility with that segment of the UFC fanbase that are unfamiliar or who could care less about what he did in PRIDE half a decade ago.
Also, I think Dana White plans on using CC as his “Bisping” in continental Europe, and maybe even Japan if they go that route, and subsequently he needs some wins in order to make an impression and retain some relevance in 2009/10.
To date CC has been pretty unimpressive inside the cage, and this is probably his last shot at making it big in the big show…
Agreed. In Japan Cro-cop was huge. Not quite at a level of Bob Sapp publicity, but quite a commonly known name outside of MMA fans in his days there. UFC definitely wants to break into foreign markets, and they need stars like Bisping, Vera, Cro-cop, etc. to win big to accomplish this.
MIRKO IS STILL A LEGEND. Yeah hes had some tough times recently..
but cmon have you seen the young talent, I for one dont think he needs
a ufc title to be considered the best of all time. HE ALREADY IS!
