If you missed last night’s UFC Fight Night 60 card, then you didn’t see Benson Henderson score one of his most impressive / memorable wins in recent history. If you did see it, and weren’t impressed, well, there may be no pleasing you….
Sure, Henderson didn’t come out and blow Brandon Thatch out of the cage, but what he did do, is battle through the latter’s strength, size and dangerous striking game to collect the submission win. Henderson took some heavy shots in the bout, and although he had difficulties getting the welterweight down at first, “Smooth” kept at it. In round four, the former lightweight champ took Thatch down and secured the victory by working his way into a rear-naked-choke.
The loss marked the first time Thatch had lost in 11 fights and since 2008…
