Alan BelcherA middleweight fight between Alan Belcher and Wilson Gouveia is likely to take place at UFC 107 on December 12 in Memphis, Tennessee, according to MMA Weekly, with both fighters agreeing to the matchup and bout agreements pending to make the fight official.

Belcher (14-6) won back-to-back fights over Ed Herman and Denis Kang before falling to Yoshihiro Akiyama by split decision at UFC 100 in July. Gouveia (12-6), who withdrew from UFC 102 in August after suffering a back injury, has compiled a 6-3 record in the UFC, including victories over Ryan Jensen and Jason MacDondald before suffering a third-round TKO loss to middleweight contender Nate Marquardt at UFC 95 in January.

Heavyweight prospect Todd Duffee was also recently added to the UFC 107 lineup, according to MMAjunkie, though his opponent has not yet been determined. The American Top Team-product Duffee improved to 5-0 and set a UFC record for fastest knockout in his Octagon debut, stopping Tim Hague in just 7-seconds at UFC 102 in August.

UFC 107 is headlined by lightweight champ BJ Penn vs. Diego Sanchez and is also set to include Clay Guida vs. Kenny Florian and Cheick Kongo vs. Frank Mir.

  • RonnyRAGE says:

I still say Rampage is an asshole. This card is in Memphis because of him.

this is gonna be a fantastic card , belcher has got to have a huge chip on his shoulder after getting screwed at 100 , would love to see the caveman beat the snot out of florian , mir decides to pick on a guy with no ground game …. humm wonder how this one will work but im gonna go out on a limb and say mir doesnt want to try his stand up that hes so proud of against kongo , and my prediction for fight of the year bj vs diego ! all i can say is FIREWORKS ARE SURE TO BE GOING OFF IN TENNESSEE DEC 12TH ! the pitbull should get back to his winning ways as well , and then the BIG MAN DUFFEE ! looking good once again mr silva

Belcher will probably get KOed. I was at 102 and meet Duffee. He’s a pretty cool guy. He took time to take pictures with the fans, like fighters should unlike half of the guys that are too cool they feel. Although he’s on his way to fighting big names he’d have a punchers chance against Gonzaga IMO. He {Duffee} fights out of ATT so he will definitely have some good training partners to learn from.

I keep hearing that Belcher got screwed at 100 but it was a good match and I could see how Akiyama won that. I didn’t agree with the 30-27 but the fight really could have gone either way. Don’t get me wrong I though Belcher was gonna whoop Akiyama but he was impressive.

Anyway having said that, I love Belcher but Wilson’s striking is on another level I feel like. TKO 2nd.

Duffee won’t get matched against Gonzaga IMO. Its probably gonna be Al-Turk or some other new comer. He’s obviously an upcoming prospect, there gonna put in a tweener fighter or maybe an average fighter on the UF10.

The best thing I liked about Duff was when he said “I’M HUNGRY DANA NOW FEED ME”

I like belcher in this fight this kid has a lot of heart. I wouldn’t be suprised if the duff man opponent wa al-turk or one of the heavies coming off tuff imo. I hope the penn-diego fight is good and one of them I don’t care which one gets ktfo’d that would be super. I think mir will try to strike with kongo for about 10 seconds before going for the takedown. I like this card I think it will be fun imo.

  • Blecher vs Gouveia should be a good fight. A good standup war. Im taking Wilson in this one but it will be close.

  • matt says:

i dont like belcher, i think he has a bad attitude, and is inconsistent. he’d be a good contender in strikeforce but he doesnt have that little extra you need in the ufc. same could be said about wilson, but i think he has just that much more talent than belcher.

  • JENKINS! says:

Belcher vs. Gouveia is a great matchup. I could see how some people would give the striking advantage to Gouveia, but Belcher has some great striking as well. Gouveia is going to have to watch out for Belcher’s kicks. If the fight goes to the ground, i give the advantage to Gouveia. This fight could really go either way IMO. I dont see it going the full 3 rounds. Im going to go out on a limb and say Belcher wins via tko. Hes gonna have a fire lit under his ass after losing that fight against Sexyama.

Duffee is a beast. He can probably stand and strike with almost any of the heavyweights, but idk how he would fare against a serious BJJ black belt, or someone who is much bigger than him. He wont fight Gonzaga next, I think it will be a lesser opponent. If he does fight Gonzaga in the near future, I think he could knock him out, but if Gonzaga got it to the ground, then who knows what could happen.

This card is going to be SICK. I cant wait. The rest of this year is jam packed with amazing fight cards.

  • Justin says:

Definitely like Belcher v. Gouveia, but I think Gouveia will win it. Belcher has decent stand up, but I’m not overly impressed, and Gouveia was able to put on a decent showing before getting KOed by Marquardt.
