Just so you know, this Jay Silva dude’s opponents as listed on sherdog have a total record of 24 wins and 26 losses. Not really anyone I’ve ever heard of and no one that compares with CB. And I’m not a CB fan, but I think Silva may have got this call a little early.

They definitely feed the TUF guys other TUF guys. It seems to me that once the TUF alumni face real (non-TUF) competition, they often come out looking pretty bad more often than not.

I think this fight is now a lot easier for Dolloway, but I’m not sure, and will be pulling for Silva, because I don’t like Dolloway.

i think that a problem with these “TUF Fighters” is that the UFC kinda overhypes them to be able to market them to the public being that they were on t.v making them somewhat “famous faces” to the audience, but a problem with that is that most of these guys are not as good as the UFC wants them to be, which to be fair puts these guys in tough spots to live up to that hype that the UFC has built around them. Some guys do deliver but most do not. CB IMO was one of those guys who still needs to develop and grow some more but because he comes from TUF people kind hold him a bit higher than other fighters who don’t come from TUF which is kinda unfair because truth be told that most guys on TUF are still rookies and just because the t/v show comes to an end does not mean that they automatically have grown to the extent of contenders or porssible contenders which puts pressure on them to perform like someone who’s been in the game a while when in reality they have just popped their UFC cherries so to speak.

agreed buddy, i’m not a CB fan nor a detractor, but this dude is in trouble if he loses this fight especially to a new guy. It just sucks because when he was with Rampage on TUF, he was thought to be one of the more talented guys if not the biggest threat to the contract and now we see him like Kendal Grove and Danzig and these other guys like Nate Diaz fighting for his UFC life and now there is even more pressure because he is expected to win against the underdog “newcomer”.

Agreed.
Dolloway was previously in a “win or walk” scenario with Miller IMO, and I don’t see much changing, unless he gets cut yet more TUF slack, or they throw him a pass because of a relatively late opponent switch.
The talent level is rising fast in the UFC at almost every weightclass, and a seemingly slow developer like Dolloway won’t have the time to get where he needs to be like he might have 4-5 years ago.
Not to be overly critical, but getting submitted by Amir Sadollah [twice] and Tom Lawlor in a 13 month span isn’t going to wow the crowd or your employer.
Maybe I’m wrong, but I’m thinking if he loses this fight, he loses his job, which suck$ for us, because we also lose the Peruvian necktie finisher…

i think this fight is dangerous for Dolloway, if he ends up losing to this new guy he might be in danger of going down a Mac Danzig type road or somewhat in that TUF fighter that never lived up to the hyype type thing. But on paper he should do just fine unless this new guy “Werdums”,”Pauolo Thiago’s” CB with an upset.

Speculation it may be, but it sounds on-point to me.
Both the external and internal changes in the sport will probably have a lot of unforseen effects, such as this, and Rampage and Carano in Hollywood.
Not saying its either a good or a bad thing, just saying that it is…
