Benson Henderson will look to get back on track at UFC Fight Night 59, when the former lightweight champ takes on a familiar foe in Donald Cerrone. Henderson was scheduled to fight Eddie Alvarez at the event, but after the latter went down with an injury, “Cowboy” offered to step in (and on two weeks notice…).
Henderson and Cerrone fought twice before in the WEC, and “Smooth” won the bouts via decision and submission. More recently, Henderson was stopped by Rafael dos Anjos, and Cerrone is coming off a UD win over Myles Jury at UFC 182.
In advance of the bout, the UFC has released an interesting video segment, which features Henderson training with Arizona Cardinal wide receiver, Larry Fitzgerald. Now if the NFL isn’t part of your regular, sports diet, you may be unaware that Fitzgerald is ridiculously good, as in he’s been selected to the Pro Bowl eight times, kind of good…You can watch the segment below.
UFC FN 59 will go down at Boston’s TD Garden Arena, and will feature Conor McGregor taking on fellow featherweight contender, Dennis Siver in the headliner.
