The Ultimate Fighting Championship continues to build the line-up for its March 14th card, and if you’re a fan of either Alistair Overeem or Roy Nelson (or both), you’ll be pleased with the card’s latest addition.
The promotion has announced that Overeem and Nelson will throw down at UFC 185, which will be hosted by the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
Nelson (20-10) will be looking to get back on track, as he was KO’d by fellow, slugger, Mark Hunt in September. Prior to the defeat, Nelson bombed out the legendary Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in April, which followed decision losses to Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic. “Big Country” is currently ranked #9.
Overeem (38-14), on the other hand, is coming off a KO win, as he took out Stefan Struve at UFC on FOX 13 last month. “The Reem” was coming off a first round, stoppage loss to Ben Rothwell heading into the bout. “The Reem” is currently sitting in the #11 ranking at heavyweight.
So, that’s an interesting fight, and an important one, as both men have gone 2-3 in their last 5 fights.
UFC 185 will be headlined by a lightweight fight between champion Anthony Pettis and Rafael dos Anjos.
