Daniel Cormier buzzed the MMA world on  a few occasions at UFC 182, by jolting Jon Jones with some hard shots, but ultimately, “DC” was overwhelmed by the extensive skill set of the light-heavyweight champ.

Cormier’s AKA teammate and friend, Luke Rockhold, spoke to MMA Fighting.com’s Ariel Helwani after the bout, and here is some of what the middleweight had to say about the fight (quote via Bloody Elbow.com):

“I’m bummed, of course,” Rockhold said. “He didn’t go out there and fight to his potential, no doubt. He had flashes of brilliance in there but he waited, stalled, and looked almost like a deer in the headlights. I don’t know if the pressure got to him or what it was; you have to give it up for Jon (Jones), he is a great fighter. He’s the champ.”

Rockhold went on to add that he believes Cormier and Jones will meet again, and argued that the former Olympian didn’t “wrestle enough” during the memorable bout.

The middleweight contender also relayed that he expects to fight Lyoto Machida next, but that the promotion has yet to determine when and where. Rockhold is coming off a dominant, submission win over Michael Bisping in November.
