The long awaited UFC 182 is underway in lovely Las Vegas, so let’s get to the action…
Marion Reneau vs. Alexis Dufresne
Reneau absolutely dominated Dufrense in this bout, as the bantamweight punished the latter with strikes for three rounds, and earned the UD win. Dufresne deserves a big pat on the back for making it 15 minutes.

Omari Akhmedov vs. Mats Nilsson
Akhmedov wings a couple of shots to begin the fight and then takes Nilsson down. Akhmedov lands several, punishing shots to Nilsson’s body but the latter gets back up. Nilsson keeps moving forward despite the fact Akhemdov is cracking off punches and hard leg kicks. Nilsson shoots in and gets the takedown. Akhmedov works his way back up and moments later, blasts in with a double leg. Nilsson works his way back to his feet. A little bit later the latter gets another takedown. Round ends.
Round 2: Nilsson comes out aggressively once again but isn’t landing much. Akhmedov is countering with hard hooks. Nilsson plants a couple of nice jabs but gets taken down. Akhmedov throws several elbow from above; Nilsson counters with a few of his own. Akhmedov passes but Nilsson gets back up. Once again Nilsson gets taken down. Yikes. Nilsson lands some painful elbows to Akhmedov’s head from below, and springs back to his feet. Yet again, Akhmedov takes the fight down. Round two ends.
Round 3: Nilsson continues to press and Akhmedov is trying to counter. Nilsson shoots in for a takedown but Akhmedov defends. The latter lands a couple of thumping punches. Nilsson defends a takedown attempt from Akhmedov, and a bit later, he takes the welterweight down. Nilsson can’t keep Akhmedov down. In the ensuing scramble, Nilsson briefly threatens with a Kimura, and then sweeps Akhmedov down. Wow. Nilsson slaps on a guillotine choke, switches to a D’arce, but final bell sounds. Solid fight.

Rodrigo Damm vs. Evan Dunham
Damm plants an overhand right but eats a left from Dunham not long after. Dunham is assuming the role of the aggressor thus far. Dunham has landed a couple of nice, lead uppercuts. Damm needs to get busy. Dunham throws a head kick but it’s blocked. The latter cracks Damm with a right hook, follows up with a head kicks that’s blocked. Mr. Dunham looks great. Dunham plants another, thumping right hook. Damm has a bloody nose as round one ends.
Round 2: Dunham continues to find a home for his right. Damm counters and Dunham shoots in. The lightweights clinch up briefly but proceed to break. Damm attempts a body kick and the fight spills to the ground briefly. Dunham continues to outscore Damm on the feet. Damm has a bloody left ear now as well. Dunham flurries before the round ends.
Round 3: Damm needs a finish to win this fight. Damm fires a head kick but Dunham blocks it. Damm follows up with a knee that misses. Dunham plants a thumping body kick. Damm eats a couple more lefts. Damm continues to take shots but is moving forward. Wow. Damm slaps himself in the face a couple of times and calls Dunham on. This is getting good; real good. Dunham is still winning the exchanges. Damm takes a knee to the face and is even bloodier as a result. Fight ends. Entertaining scrap.

Jared Cannonier vs. Shawn Jordan
Jordan fires a right hand to begin the fight. Cannonier is light on his feet and plants a leg kick. Jordan cracks Cannonier with a left. Both men fire shots in an exchange. Cannonier continues to throw leg kicks. Crazy. Jordan blasts Cannonier with a right hook and the latter goes down. Ref jumps in to save Cannonier from further punishment.

Marcus Brimage vs. Cody Garbrandt
Garbrandt fires a couple of head kicks to start the fight. Brimage catches Garbrandt low and fight is momentarily stopped. Garbrandt wings a couple of hard punches. Brimage launches a head kick that is blocked. Action spills to the mat and Garbrandt is on top. Brimage gets back up. Garbrandt throws a flying knee that misses. Garbrandt takes another kick to the groin. Yikes. The fight resumes, and in a crazy exchange, Garbrandt appears to stun Brimage with a punch. Round ends.
Round 2: Garbrandt throws a head kick that misses, and Brimage flurries in. Wow. Both guys are winging hard shots when they throw. Garbrandt lands a hook but Brimage counters. Garbrandt throws a body kick but takes a left. Brimage follows up with a few more punches. Each bantamweight lands some shots as they exchange in the pocket. Round ends.
Brimage blocks a head kick and counters with a couple of shits. Garbrandt eats a right hand. The latter counters nicely with his own right moments later. Garbrandt throws a head kick but gets swept to the mat. Garbrandt threatens with a triangle-choke but Brimage defends. Fight is back on its feet. Garbrandt feints a takedown. Brimage absorbs a hard left hook. Garbrandt shoots in but Brimage defends. Wow. Garbrandt sends Brimage down with a shot. The Team Alpha Male fighter swarms in as Brimage struggles back to his feet. The latter gets put down again. Fight’s over.

Danny Castillo vs. Paul Felder
The lightweights exchange leg kicks to begin the fight. Felder follows up with a couple more kicks to the leg. Castillo takes a kick to the groin and action’s halted. Castillo looks for a takedown but can’t get it. Felder blasts Castillo’s legs with a couple more kicks. Felder fires a spinning back kick that misses but Castillo is getting outscored. Wow. Felder throws another spinning kick to the head that just misses its mark. Felder fires a spinning back fist that misses and the round ends. Impressive round for Felder.
Round 2: Castillo wings a right hand but Felder moves out of the way. Castillo throws another bomb, changes levels, but can’t get the takedown. Castillo just can’t find his range. And jaws drop around the MMA world. Felder crushes Castillo with a spinning back fist. That’s a wrap. POTN front runner.
