This has the makings of a great fight.
I think the only way Ken-flo could win is by submission. Guida is one hell of a tough fighter, and he put up one hell of a fight against Diego, even after he got rocked by that huge head kick. I want to be realistic and say that Florian will win by submission…but i have to go with Guida. I think his pace, wrestling, and takedowns will win him a split decision. I think Florian will come out strong in the first round, and will win that round with ease. After that, I think Guida will do what he always does, pick up the pace, get some takedowns, frustrate his opponent, and he will do so for the last two rounds.
Guida via split decision.

Also, i think Clay will have a much improved stand up. Especially after the Diego fight. Diego did really well at exposing Guidas weakness.

yeah dude i don’t think that Florian has enough punching or kicking power that can put Guida away, I mean Sanchez has decent power and hit Clay with a clean solid kick right on the money and Guida still survived that, Florian i feel does not have the power that Sanchez has therefore he should stick to his jtz and take the fight to the ground. But i do feel that if Florian allows Guida to be the agressor, he’ll end up losing a decision because as good as Guida is, he’s not great at finishing guys, but non the less should be a good and exciting fight, a must win for both guys. If florian loses he falls even further from another title shot that he already problably is going to have to work his a$$ off for. If Guida loses he’ll drop even more considering that he barely hanging on a thread in contender status.

I’ve noticed it before with him FR he always does that. I think that’s why he is so adamant about fighting WW’s at 155 Penn fights like a cat that plays with a mouse before deciding “ok I’m done playing time to die.” Who knows maybe Penn is a cat… would explain why he licks his gloves…

Kenny was standing with Penn in the first and got dropped, then Kenny thought he would get all GSP on Penn but ya @155 that isn’t going to work and he paid the price… Penn is waaaayyyyy better on the ground than FLorini but Florini isn’t half bad but he is no BJ Penn bottom line when Penn wanted to end the fight he did, you can see something in him “click” like “ok I’ve played your game time to go home thank you” and boom it was over, perhaps you can’t see it on the telecast but being there live it was something both Eric and myself noticed…

It’ll come down to Judging styles most likely. I think Guida “cavemans” his way into takedowns like always but if Florian keeps an active guard(ala his mortal enemy D Sanchez) like he typically does and even if he is taken down he can win by controlling the fight once it gets to the ground.
