The hard-hitting first round finisher, Marcos de Lima, lived up to his reputation against the tough Croatian Igor Pokrajac. Heading into this bout we knew both guys liked to stand and bang on the feet, but de Lima looked like an animal in the cage. The knockout came at just 1:59 into the first round.
From the beginning, Pokrajac and de Lima locked up against the cage and de Lima looked like he wanted to try his wrestling out. After a temporary stalemate, referee Fernando Yamasaki split them up. Pokrajac did what he does best which is drive forward with punches in bunches. Marcos de Lima stood his ground though and threw bombs with Pokrajac, and after several big punches it was known that de Lima was the harder hitter. Pokrajac went down after some big left hooks; vicious punches on the ground prompted the referee to step in as Pokrajac turtled. Igor looked to protest the stoppage, but de Lima hit him with some real dangerous power shots.
Marcos Rogerio de Lima is definitely a big name to watch out for. He truly has freakish one-punch KO power, and seeing as how he resembles a heavyweight when he steps into the Octagon he could be a real force in the future. Big win for de Lima; Pokrajac now falls to a three fight losing streak.
