Jake O'BrienFollowing losses in three of his last four fights, the UFC has released light heavyweight Jake O’Brien, according to Five Ounces of Pain, who confirmed the release with O’Brien’s agent Ken Pavia

After a promising start to his UFC career that saw O’Brien win his first three fight inside the Octagon, including a victory over Heath Herrting, to push his undefeated record to 10-0, “Irish” suffered back-to-back losses Andrei Arlovski and Cain Velasquez. After picking up a split decision win over Christian Wellisch in January in his light heavyweight (205-pound) debut, the former heavyweight O’Brien was submitted by Jon Jones in his most-recent bout in July at UFC 100.
