WEC Featherweight Cole Province Tests Positive for Steroids
WEC featherweight Cole Province has failed a Nevada State Athletic Commission drug test following his WEC 42 victory over Fredson Paixao on August 9 in Las Vegas, testing positive for the anabolic steroid Methasterone, according to NSAC executive director Keith Kizer, who confirmed the result with MMAFrenzy.com on Monday afternoon.
Province was the lone fighter to test positive on the card, with Miguel Torres, Brian Bowles, Dominick Cruz, Takeya Mizugaki, Leonard Garcia, Shane Roller, Ed Ratcliff and Diego Nunes all passing their screenings for drugs of abuse and performance enhancing drugs.
Methasterone, a “designer steroid” sold in over-the-counter dietary supplements, was added to the World Anti-Doping Agency’s list of banned substances in 2005.
Province (6-1) suffered a unanimous decision loss to Diego Nunes in his WEC debut last December at WEC 37, before rebounding with a unanimous decision win over Paixao earlier this month.

Cut him.
thats a little harsh dont you think he could bleed to death
Depends on where you cut him and how deeply.
Who?
Not very familiar with Province, but still…this is disappointing.
This is proof karma exists. He lost the fight. His friends were “those guys” at the live event and Fredison busted him open with an elbow. The result was booed loudly at The Joint. If anything can be learned by Fredison he should let his hands go more. The later part of the fight he looked like Wanderlei before the bell on the Prde Fc game.
