TUF 17 winner, Josh Samman, added a huge clip to his highlight reel as he slammed his shin into the face of Eddie Gordon in the second round of their middleweight contest. The fight started out rather slow-paced as Gordon put his dominant physical strength and wrestling on display by taking Samman down several times, but not being able to mount much offense once he got him down.
On the feet, Samman’s main source of offense was his kicks, but Gordon’s overhand right and takedowns were the perfect counter and kept him out of trouble. However, lack-luster offense when in top position ultimately plagued Gordon. Referee Herb Dean stood the two up in the second round after a few uneventful moments on the ground, and Josh Samman landed a picture perfect left high kick to the jaw of Gordon that put the respective TUF 19 winner out cold on impact.
It was a big finish for Josh Samman who is coming off of a long lay-off plagued with family tragedy and personal injuries. It looked like Gordon was en route to scoring a cookie-cutter unanimous decision victory with his dominant wrestling skills, but Samman was all game and only need one moment to capitalize and pick up the KO victory.
