Tim Sylvia vs. Jason Riley Headlines Adrenaline IV on September 18 Near Omaha
A heavyweight matchup between Tim Sylvia and Jason Riley will headline Adrenaline MMA’s September 18 event, according to Riley, who recently-announced the bout on MySpace.
Adrenaline IV is slated to take place near Omaha, Nebraska at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and is also expected to feature current UFC fighter Houston Alexander and veteran Jeremy Horn.
Sylvia (24-6), a former UFC heavyweight champion, is currently riding a three-fight losing streak, suffering a 9-second knockout to Ray Mercer in his most-recent fight in June after weighing in at an astonishing 310-pounds for the bout. “The Maine-iac” previously suffered back-to-back losses to Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Fedor Emelianenko in 2008.
Riley (6-1) won the NAAFS heavyweight title in his most-recent fight in April, defeating Justin Black via first-round knockout.

I wouldn’t go watch Sylvia fight if it was in my backyard! Seriously! The guy is a joke to the sport with the roids, his style, and getting ko’d while out of shape!
This is going to be a great fight since Riley is an up and coming beast and very quick………There will be tons of fans all over the country watching this….I mean how many Dan Henderson….the million Silvas…..same old stuff can you stand after a while
First off, I really don’t care for Tim Sylvia but I honestly do hope that he turns things around. He looked mentally ill in his last outing against Mercer. Between his massive weight gain, being out of shape, the confused look in his eyes when he stepped in the ring and then getting KTFO I’m seriously worried that he might be on the brink of a full blown meltdown. This guy has fallen hard.
I guess Mercer was unavailable for a rematch…
I’m with you Ether, I don’t care to watch him fight but he looked like he’d curled up w/ a bottle for his camp nutrition…
I love it, Slyvia has been reduced to fighting in Council Bluffs. What a pile.
I don’t care for syliva. This is the dude who would go grocery shopping with his belt on!
I’d like to see houston run through his opponent, get some confidence back and come back to the ufc with a new arsenal of weapons and a new attitude. If working with horn has helped his ground game like i hope it has, then houston could become a force @ 205! Might be a little wishfull thinking but not unrealistic.
Just goes to show you how well this organization is doing putting Silvia who is 0-3 in the Main Event Headliner.
I do hope this tune up fight for Houston goes well. I just hope that if he gets taken down he now understands the meaning of sprawl and guard. And possibly even Guillotine
And why are we supposed to care that Tim Syliva is fighting anyone, anywhere?
Because he’s a former UFC Champion, maybe? Because he’s a stud? Because he…
Alright, I can’t keep it up. I don’t give a sh!t about this card or Tim Sylvia. Wonder if he’ll weigh in under three bills.
Adrenaline should be fortunate that they’ve survived direct contact with M-1 Global when others have not.
Although I’m not sure I’d consider Tim “The Stain-iac” Sylvia headlining the event as surviving…
Tim sylbia needs to just stick with blind date or cheaters…i mean come on.. look at the above picture.. enough said
I have never been a fan of Sylvia. I never liked his fighting style, and his ego really pi$$ed me off. I enjoy watching him lose….but its getting ridiculous. After that Mercer KO, im convinced that he has some serious issues. Hopefully he can get back on track. Never liked the guy, but he really needs to turn his career around.
Oh c’mon, sure he’s a big, goofy sloppy, honky tonk kinda arrogant jerk-off, but he USUALLY puts on a good bang. If he can get back some of his old spark I’d be interested in watching him fight.
Houston is back… bad, stronger, meaner.. and more prepared! He will prevail on Sept 18th. I feel extremely sorry for his opponent, truely!
