So if interest in MMA picks up south of the border, how long will it be before Dana White starts talking about how he wants to conquer Mexico like he’s conquered England, and starts looking around for a Mexican Michael Bisping?
He has been speaking about Mexico for the last year and a half, putting the WEC on there Garcia v Faber before that Michael Thomas Brown guy came and messed that shhhh up… But honestly rightnow might not the best time to go into Mexico, we shall see tho..
Paul Buentello better be checking his emails and answering machine.
It’ll give Mr Brown Pride something to do after he gets turned into a red smear on the mat by Caveman Carwin.
On “Mr Brown Pride” what are the chances of there ever being a guy in the UFC with “White Pride” tattooed on his chest…. just sayin…
zero justin because that would be racist!……but what else do you expect from our world of double standards
“I WANT BJ’S BELT!!!”
The UFC could sell big in Mexico
Dana white will probably try to promote caine velasquez, roger huerta, and efrain escudaro in mexico. Those are the only mexican fighters that are in the ufc that I can think of
I think that the WEC would be first to go to Mexico…
true that. miguel torres could be huge in mexico
And Monson didn’t look the best I’ve seen the vid, he did win but I’ve seen better from him
Glad you noticed that as well. fr702.
Not to cast aspersions, but only say this as a reference, but Monson almost looked medicated in that he seemed to have no snap or crispness during stretches of the fight.
He won, but if you’re ever seen him submission grapple, he usually displays a startling amount of kineticism for a man of his size. Not so against Ambriz, although considering he submiited the guy in less than 5 minutes I suppose we can’t be overly critical.
Maybe Monson was jetlagged or something?
Dana already has signed a deal with Grupo Televisa in mexico to broadcast fights and shows like UFC unleashed. It also broadcast UFC 100 for free
UFC 100 also set a ratings record for mexico.
How is the U.F.C going to sell big in mexico,In a Country that is faced with Turmoil and poverty? Does Mexico Even have an Olympic team? Everyone who was good at something went to the U.S.If they were to do A show Mexico it would be in a Tourist town In the Middle of tourist season and they might Do O.K.If the U.F.C was in the business of selling some of the Best food on the Planet.”witch is Mexican food” they might stand a chance.Let’s look at something The last place the U.F.C will ever go again is Japan.Dana has been told “Don’t do Business in are Country”.And if you Don’t listen bad things will happen,Oh **** it sound’s like he’s in Russia.
I’m a bit confused about your statement, “Does Mexico Even have an Olympic team?” <—what does this mean, or have to do with MMA? “Everyone who was good at something went to the U.S.” (um not exactly sure what you were shooting for but I guess that is an interesting statement), then off to the Japanese telling Dana not to put a card on in Japan and then to the Russians, sooo we have a bit of strong arm gangsta shhhh and a slight hint at racism? If I’m wrong by all means let me know….
Yes it doesn’t make sense, must be a guy who just doesn’t want MMA in Mexico maybe? This is a country who has a HUGE following of pro wrestling and has some boxing greats. There is absolutely no reason why it wont succeed over in Mexico.
Maybe he was trying to make a comment about Swine Flu…
Wait a minute.
“Does Mexico even have an Olympic team”?!
That can’t be a serious question, but in repsonse…
I’d say so, seeing as how I’ve worked on an event like a year ago with a very talented Las Vegas chef named Elia who was an Olympic alternate for their swim team…
taylor who?, sanchez who? jesse taylor, eddie sanchez?
Yes, Jesse Taylor and Eddie Sanchez.
thanks justin
It was in the article.
MEXICAN LUCHADORES, LETS GET IT ON !!!
