Mike Brown vs. Jose Aldo To Headline November 11 WEC Event
WEC featherweight champion Mike Brown will take on 145-pound contender Jose Aldo in the main event of a November 11 WEC event, according to InTheGuard.tv.
A location has not yet been determined for the Versus-televised event.
Brown (22-4), a winner of 10-straight bouts who trains out of American Top Team, topped Jeff Curran in his WEC debut last June before defeating Urijah Faber to win the title in November. He’s successfully defended the belt twice since, defeating Leonard Garcia via first-round submission in March and again defeating Faber by unanimous decision in a June rematch.
Aldo (15-1) has recorded knockouts in all five of his WEC bouts, defeating Alexandre Franca Nogueira, Jonathan Brookins, Ronaldo Perez, Chris Mickle, and, most-recently in June, Cub Swanson since debuting with the promotion last June to earn a shot at the featherweight title. His lone career loss was a second-round submission defeat in 2005 that has been followed by 8-straight wins.

I’m going to need a moment… another good looking card.
I personally think Brown is going to hold that belt until Urijah Faber is healthy and returned to form. He just seems way too strong and skilled at FW for anyone but Faber, who I still consider one of the world’s p4p best, to defeat.
Although Aldo is a great fighter,Brown will likely be just too strong for him.I think Fabiano vs Brown wood be a good match up though.
Aldo v Brown is a good matchup, pure power v speed and skill…. Not that Brown doesn’t have skill we all know that he does.. Faber has lost to Brown twice, that is nothing to bark at.. Aldo has been literally destroying his opponents and well he is exciting as helll.. I can’t wait that fight is going to be a non stop battle til the final bell or well when someone wakes up… fun times
Ah, this is such a great match up. When ever I hear/ read Aldo’s name all I can think about is his destruction of Cub Sanson. That was straight up brutal. Go Brown!
Jose Aldo is a very skilled fighter, more so that Mike Brown, but what Aldo doesn’t have tha Brown has is experience fighting in the big fights with all the pressure and thousands of people booing you. I like Brown but he can lose, Faber gave him a challenge with a broken right hand, someone like Aldo would have finished Faber, but to be fair Faber is “Faber”. I think that Brown can get by Aldo, it
s one of those things where i feel that Aldo will come up short, Brown is super strong and has a champions heart and will to win. Aldo is a sick dude who can do crazy $hit, but i feel that Brown will overwhelm him on the ground, but Aldo is very wuick and has good stand-up soooo this fight can come and go very quick, whoever wins i just can’t wait for Faber to come back and fight for the belt again.
i dont see aldo having anything for brown unless he gets a lucky ko in the first or ko’s brown while he is shooting…but we also shouldnt forget that jose aldo is mainly a jui jitsu fighter so his ground game is no joke…but browns experience should pull him through in this fight
yeah dude brown is a powerfull, skilled and smart fighter. He’s going to bully that division for a while. I don’t know if faber vs brown 3 would be kool cuz brown already beat him 2. I honestly think if faber hadn’t broken his hand that he would have finished brown but still, brown got the “w”.
Aldo like everyone said is sick too. I think Aldo’s advantage in this fight besides his speed is that he’s unpredictable and he can throw you off your game.
Although Aldo will be a stern test I still see Brown taking this one. Maybe somebody like Warren could give him problems. In due time.
in due time?
Like beating Kid was some easy task, perhaps when Warren is done with DREAM he can come over and challenge Brown, ehhh probably won’t happen for Warren is Faber’s proteige owell
Thats why I mentioned him. The win over Yamamoto was a huge eye opener for me. I meant In due time as in when he starts fighting over in the states gets a win in the WEC then challenges Brown. He could give him problems. feel me.
Hey, everyone that says mike brown is gonna win because he’s to strong that has nothing to do with it. Technique beats size and strength any day. Jose Aldo is a black belt and Mike Brown is only a brown belt. Aldo is to fast for brown. So I think Aldo will TKO brown by strikes and knees. For example at UFC 100 thiago alves is way bigger and stronger than georges st-pierre but he won because he has better technique. A big advantage brown has over aldo is experience. It will be a good matchup and I can’t wait to see it.
aldo is gonna bring some problems for brown i think…first off aldos speed is gonna be too much for brown..the only thing brown gotta do is bring aldo to the ground and gnp or submit aldo….but aldo is a bjj blackbelt so i dont know if thats a good idea for brown hahahaha!! gonna be a war!!!! go aldo!!!!
