Akiyama, Belcher, Henderson, and Lawlor Earn Record UFC 100 Fight Night Bonuses
Yoshihiro Akiyama, Alan Belcher, Dan Henderson, and Tom Lawlor each earned record $100,000 Fight Night bonuses for their performances of Saturday at UFC 100.
The $100,000 bonuses are the biggest ever awarded for the traditional post-fight awards.
Akiyama and Belcher received “Fight of the Night” honors for their three-round battle, which saw Belcher connect with leg kicks at will that left “Sexyama” limping, while Akiyama’s multiple takedowns were enough to earn him to victory.
Henderson earned “Knockout of the Night” with a highlight reel knockout of rival Michael Bisping in the second-round of their featured main card bout. After dominating Bisping throughout the opening round, Henderson stalked Bisping in the second looking for a knockout opportunity before connecting with a right that collapsed Bisping to the canvas and following it up with a brutal flying elbow that left Bispng unconscious for nearly a minute.
“Submission of the Night” went to “Filthy” Tom Lawlor for his 55-second guillotine choke submission of CB Dollaway on the UFC 100 prelimiary card.

I thought Belcher got robbed, but the bounus should make up for it.
I watched the fight again and I say Sexyama won that fight. The 3rd round could of went either way because of Belcher’s jabs, but Sexyama controlled all of round 1, & most of round 2. I think robbed might be a little far fetched. But like always, that’s my personal opinion.
belcher did get robbed and wtf was mir doing?????????? He was in full guard forevor!!! NO JIU JUITSO?????
he wasnt in full guard^
there was no space between him and brock for him to try any jiu jitsu kid. once brock did give him space he was looking to setup an armbar, but brock realized and went back to smothering him. belcher did get robbed imo, and the 100k wouldnt make it up to me, but it wouldnt hurt either.
In spite of all the “Lesnar-mania” running wild last night, I’m really glad to see those fat bonus checks going out to the men who deserve them the most.
And yes, Belcher probably did get robbed, but it probably won’t effect him too adversely with the promotion, and the 100 grand kicker is a nice consolation prize.
After shutting Bisping up, Hendo should have gotten 2 bonus checks, one for KO of the night and another for showing that Bisping was overrated.
Hopefully moving forward UFC 100 will be more remembered for Hendo’s KO and the great GSP-Alves match, and not the HW unpleasantness…
(Too close to bashing for my taste – Justin)
After further notification review, Justin was 100% justified in editing my post, which was out of bounds.
Apologies all around for my mis-statements regarding Bisping.
i agree jcohl, and i would like to hear it from you… is brock for real as a hw mma fighter? you agreed you would eat crow if he destroyed mir.
Looks like he’s too busy now talking about Brock’s character instead of saying he wasn’t skilled/deserving to eat his crow.
I would suggest that an MMA fans energies here at this site would be best directed towards taking Brock Lesnar to task for his actions last night, instead of “calling me out”, but maybe thats just me.
I’ve said it on another thread, but yes I agree that Lesnar is “for real”. The reason I passed on the crow is because Lesnar made such as @$$ of himself last night he doesn’t deserve the consideration of the fans he so blatantly disrespected, including my own.
I think part of the problem is that this Lesnar thing is spread out over several threads, so you may have missed my comments on Lesnar’s few good points. However my original point remains, Lesnar certainly didn’t exhibit any skill last night that we haven’t seen him exhibit before. He won by being larger and stronger than his opponent.
If it makes you all feel any better about this guy being the UFC HW champion, then YES his gorilla tactics were very effective against a smaller, more skilled opponent, and he retained his best. If that makes him a “real” HW MMA fighter, fine.
That good enough for you bigschris2328?
And Justin, any real MMA fan is entitled to comment on Lesnar’s character after what went on last night. I don’t care how popular Lesnar is, how many PPV buys he snags for the UFC, or how many a$$es he puts in seats. The guy is all wrong for the sport, and his actions have proved that. His and Dana White’s “apology” was laughable. Lesnar’s acted out before, and he’ll do it again.
Defending him and/or taking issue with me isn’t adressing the problem.
In fact, it’s actually perpetuating it.
imo belcher didnt get robbed…..akiyama won 10-9 10-9 and belcher got 10-9 for me…meaning a split. with akiyama winning…..i thought i was the only one who scored it like this but it seems every major mma website ive been scored it the same way akiyama by split- sherdog, junkie, bloody elbow so i feel pretty good
I scored it 29-28 for Akiyama, as did Kris and Kevin Iole I know, plus like you said, I’ve seen numerous writers on other MMA sites say go with the same score. One even said he went back and watched the fight two more times, and that only more solidly confirmed his original score of 29-28.
I agree with both of you.
gunslinger,
one person can’t score a fight a split decision
