UFC on FOX 13: So Alistair Overeem Already Has His Next Bout

It looks like Alistair Overeem already has his next fight, which could be his last in the UFC depending on how it goes, as he and Stefan Struve have reportedly agreed to scrap.

The UFC has announced that the Dutch heavyweights have verbally ‘signed’ off on fighting December 13th, at the U.S Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona. The bout will be part of UFC on FOX 13.

As you likely know, Overeem is coming off another disastrous bout, as the former Strikeforce champ was stopped by Ben Rothwell earlier this month at UFC FN 50. It marked the third time in four fights that Overeem has been stopped, as the decorated fighter has also been taken out by “Bigfoot” Silva and Travis Browne.

Recently, Dana White announced that Overeem wasn’t going to be cut just yet, despite his recent struggles. The feared striker worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Frank Mir in February.

Struve will be fighting for the first time since March, 2013, when he was stopped by Mark Hunt. The 7’0 tall heavyweight was sidedlined with a rare heart condition afterwards, and in July, Struve was forced to withdraw from a bout with Matt Mitrione after nearly feinting.

Overeem-Struve huh; who doesn’t want to see that fight?
