Could be I’ve just never noticed, but Silva hasn’t exactly looked impressive since Irvin, so I wouldn’t count on him connecting anyway. He ran away from a chance to KO Leites, after all.

gsp tries at least one superman punch in almost every fight. he did it against hughes, bj multiple times, did it against fitch, i am very sure he will do it against alves as well mr dbiz.

Slight problem with theory #1. It’s easy to defeat. Just shoot with a knee down. Silva’s knee connects then? Fight over by DQ.

That said, there are holes in all of those options. In #2, GSP’s kicks aren’t as lazy as Irvin’s. You snap a hard body kick, there won’t be any catching it because he’ll be sucking wind (not to mention that silva LOOKS vulnerable to front kicks).

For #3….I’ve never seen GSP try a superman punch. Why would he? Quick jab and a bullrush and Silva is on his back, quite possibly with GSP already popping out of guard like he did againt Penn.

Of course, I still don’t expect GSP to beat him. It’s the size. You can’t jump a weight class and be expected to beat the champion. But if GSP pulls it off, he is instantly the P4P king, no debate needed.

Well, Thiago is a dangerous fighter, but I don’t think he can defeat GSP. Why? It’s pretty obvious. GSP only lost to two fighters so far. These two were Matt Hughes and Matt Serra. Which means, that GSP only loses an mma match, when he faces a guy with the first name Matt for the first time. So Thiago, if you want to win this fight, you better change your name.

didnt mean to sound like it was illegal hits, they were both not intended for that far back on the head so it doesnt matter. i just think they fought 10 times gsp would win 8 or 9 of them. so he got a slightly better chance then kimbo winning tuf10.
