I don’t think that he is going to make a “run” at the title, just isn’t going to happen (hope for him it does) but “looking at his resume” he just hasn’t gotten over any top talent in the world well ok he did beat Hallman but Dennis is fighting in the “contender” series for StrikeForce… Good for Jorge getting a deal hope he makes the best of it and does well, but honestly he isn’t going to beat any of the top 5 (in the UFC) anytime soon…

the truth is that Rivera always brings it to the cage and tries to always be entertaining. He may not always win but he still comes to fight. I mean his record in the UFC is only one loss more than Guida. Guys that want to fight and always put on a decent show will always have a place in the UFC if they want to be there.

Jorge Rivera never impressed me as being a killer MW, but after reading his resume you can make the argument that the guy has swum in the deep end of the pool. Also by all accounts he’s a decent enough guy and I’m glad he got another shot in “the show” before hanging them up.
I do wonder if his contract signing is an indication of his vast improvement, or the fact that maybe MW’s are a bit thin on the UFC ground since Anderson Silva for all intents and purposes shut down the division.
I wish Rivera luck both rehabbing and in the cage. He’ll need it with the hungry pack of MW dogs the UFC is sporting these days…

If he fights the way he did against Grove and not like he did against Kampman, he will continue to grap wins here and there and will be with the UFC for some time. Considering that the guy is 37 though, this could be his last go around.
