The Bout Order Has Been Set For September’s UFC 178 Event

UFC 178

Officials have released the bout order for UFC 178 next month, and it features a few surprises.

First the things we’ve known.

Demetrious Johnson will defend his flyweight title against Chris Cariaso in the main event on September 27 from Las Vegas. We also learned recently that Donald Cerrone will now welcome Eddie Alvarez to the Octagon instead of facing Bobby Green.

The rest of the main card features Dustin Poirier-Conor McGregor, Tim Kennedy-Yoel Romero and Cat Zingano-Amanda Nunes.

Dominick Cruz, who was stripped of the bantamweight belt after another injury, will finally return to action for the first time in two years when he faces Takeya Mizugaki. That fight headlines the FOX Sports 1 prelims, which also boast former title contender Patrick Cote facing off against Stephen Thompson.
