The latest release of the official UFC rankings have been posted, and Jussier Formiga was the big winner.
Formiga, who defeated Zach Makovsky over the weekend, climbed up two spots to No. 4 in the flyweight division. He passed former top contenders John Moraga and Ali Bagautinov, standing behind only John Dodson, Joseph Benavidez and Ian McCall.
Oddly enough, Formiga is the only fighter in the Top-6 who has yet to face the champion, Demetrious Johnson.
In the lightweight rankings, Rustam Khabilov and Jorge Masvidal each moved up two spots, while Ross Pearson debuted at No. 14 after finishing Gray Maynard. Maynard, a former contender, fell to 15th overall.
Jake Ellenberger and Tarec Saffiedine each climbed a spot at welterweight, while Demian Maia and Dong Hyun Kim fell one position each. Josh Barnett and Stefan Struve switched with Stipe Miocic and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at heavyweight.
The only other change came at women’s bantamweight where Sara McMann moved to third over Alexis Davis.
The rankings could see several changes next week as two UFC cards go down Saturday featuring a handful of ranked fighters.
