In an interview on AXS TV’s Inside MMA UFC light heavyweight contender Daniel Cormier discusses his relationship UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones that included a flair up at a press event and an off-air exchange after an interview with the two fighters
His thoughts on the aftermath of the brawl: “You’ve got two of the best fighters in the world fighting for a championship…. I think we need to focus more on that than all the stuff that’s happened outside of the cage. The stuff that’s happened outside of the cage isn’t good. It’s not a proud moment for me, it’s not a proud moment for Jon [Jones]. So we have to carry ourselves better and show people why they’re really tuning into the fight.”
His thoughts on any disciplinary action he might face from the UFC or NSAC: “It hasn’t happened yet. We kind of expect for it to happen. You can’t behave in that way and not expect some sort of punishment. Whatever they divvy out is gonna be just and we’ll move forward from that.”
The main event will be between Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier. UFC 178 will happen on September 27 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
