Ray Mercer KOs Tim Sylvia in Just 10-Seconds at Adrenaline III

Former WBO heavyweight champion Ray Mercer, 15-years older and 50-pounds lighter than his opponent Tim Sylvia, needed just 10-seconds to knockout the 310-pound former UFC heavyweight champion on Saturday in the main event of Adrenaline III in Birmingham, Alabama.
UFC veterans Rich Clementi and Jeremy Horn both picked up first-round submission victories on the Adrenaline III undercard.

like i just said in the forums…this happens 99 times out of 100 when you put a world class boxer (regardless of age) against a mixed martial artist in a boxing match….i know it was mma rules but i suspect they agreed to stand since this was originally meant to be a boxing match.
I’m think I am a very few and far between Tim Sylvia fan, but regardless I couldn’t help but chuckle when I read the headline, then watched the video. Stick to MMA, better yet, start becoming a trainer and open a gym.

dang first punch ko, timmy looked like a tree falling down. TIMber!!! he just needs to stop competition and try playing basketball. I dont think he can get ko’d in basketball. I thought it wouldve taken longer for timmy to be ko’d. did he think he was going to use his superior fighting skills to beat mercer? maybe thats why he blew up to 310 pounds.

This is Dana’s doing. He paid for the Arlovski knockout in seconds. He paid Sylvia for this. They both have made more money in these 2 losses than the UFC pays their winners. That’s my conspiracy theory. All to make Fedor look bad.
It is not good to suggest MMA fights are fixxed! IMO. Its as anoying as the people at the bar making comments about the fighters being homo! Its just dumb, and shows ignorance IMO!

Well this shows that um Timmehhh didn’t take this fight seriously what so ever just did this for a pay day….. I completly blame good ol Monte for this bull, it also was never a smart idea to stand with a Pro Boxing champ while he was wearing 4/5oz gloves,if even for 9 seconds… And the way he fell all in slow motion was hell crazy……

Is anyone surprised? Tim has always sucked…. The only notable win for Tim was Andre, and lets be honest, Andre has a glass chin as well. Maybe Tim can leave the sport now and disappear……please disappear.
At 310, disappearing is about the last thing he’ll be able to do. Unless you mean disappearing into a White Castle bag…
I’m not all that surprised that Tim Sylvia sucked out loud in a fight, but I am surprised that he sucked out loud against an older, smaller one-dimensional opponent in his first MMA bout.
Also, I can only imagine the look of utter disbelief and disappointment on Pat Miletich’s face when he watched a casino sports book greeter like Ray Mercer floor one of his MFS guys and a former UFC world champion. If I were Miletich I’d ask Sylvia to clear out his locker and train, assuming he still does that for fights, somewhere else before he does any more damage to MFS’s once-solid reputation…

They didnt think this fight was going to happen, They give tix away outside. A bunch of good fights all night then tim looked slow and old. ! punch KO- It was GREAT.
That was just sad. Tail end of his career or not, this does (re) open up the question about pro boxers vs. mma fighters.
An overweight, out of shape Tim Sylvia is a poor representative of MMA to step into a boxing ring. I’d say that Overheem would do much better against Mercer than Timmeh did.

Great olympic run for the gold medal as an alternate step in …….. won world titles …….. had epic ring battles as a pro .Tim being high or just in plain “DQ” shape is piss poor .
