UFC 99 Draws 12,800 For $1.3 Million Gate; Franklin, Silva, Swick, and Etim Awarded Bonuses
UFC 99, which took place on Saturday at the Lanxess, Arena in Cologne, Germany, drew an official attendance of 12,800 for a $1.3 million live gate.
UFC President Dana White announced the figures at the post-UFC 99 press conference.
Though the arena can accomodate up to 20,000 spectators, it was scaled down for the promotion’s first card held in the country and mainland Europe. Despite fans 18 and younger being banned from attending the June 13th pay-per-view event, White stated earlier this week that it was nearly sold out.
White also announced that $60,000 bonuses were awarded to Rich Franklin and Wanderlei Silva (Fight of the Night), Mike Swick (Knockout of the Night), and Terry Etim (Submission of the Night).

boaring night nothing epic
woulda been nice to see more action glad to see saunders get what was coming to him
I thought this was going to be a much more exciting card…oh well.
SO will we see a HARDY vs. Davis II? i really think Davis won that fight.. I really think all fights should be five rounds…
I’m really surprised with all the “boring” remarks. I thought the fights were very exciting. The Kongo/Cain fight went exactly as expected, but every time it went back to the feet there were moments of uncertainty. The Hardy/Davis, Wand/Franklin fights were fantastic! Watch pro wrestling I suppose if all you are interested in seeing are the amazing KO’s and controversial victories (or the Cro Cop fight anyway)
I agree with u…………The fights were exciting. Specially liked to see Kongo’s a$$ was handed to him. I didn’t know cain has that much potential. Wandy’s loss was disappointing but exciting. Rele wanted him to win. Hardy vs Davis was close. I think Hardy won.
60k bonuses. How’s that for extra motivation.
Wow some of you guys are hard to impress. I could have done without fisher-Uno on the main card, but you cant say hardy and davis wasnt a scrap. Swick put saunders away nicely, cro-cop had us on our feet for a second, kongo and Cain was interesting and eye opening, plus the main event was a WAR.
I actually enjoyed the Fisher/Uno fight. Sure, the first round was uneventful, but the second and third were not so bad.
Definitely glad to see that bonus money paid out, although it looks on the surface that Germany isn’t as MMA-crazy as the UK is at this point.
Maybe the card, and the sport as it relates to the host country, needed a German equivalent of Michael Bisping to put asses in the seats??
