UFC Vet Jason Day Wins Weekend Bout
Middleweight Jason Day returned to action over the weekend for the first time since being cut by the UFC in April, defeating Trevor Stewardson via second-round submission at Rumble in the Cage 35 in his hometown of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.
Day made his UFC debut in April 2008, scoring an impressive first-round knockout of Alan Belcher at UFC 83, but was unable to secure another UFC victory, dropping back-to-back bouts to Michael Bisping and Kendall Grove that resulted in him being released by the promotion earlier this year.
Prior to his back-to-back UFC losses, “Dooms” Day had won 10 of 11 fights, losing only to middleweight contender Patrick Cote while earning victories over notables Marcus Hicks, Jonathan Goulet, Ron Faircloth, and David Loiseau.

Nice to see the guy with the greatest play-off-his-real-name nickname start his comeback to the UFC.
I dunno elliot “the fire” marshall comes pretty close
I would say Kongo wins as far as being simple… haha
Yeh his nickname took about as much thought as Spencer Fishers! Didnt think he was all that bad in the UFC, 1-2 and his 2 loses being against TUF winners. 2 or 3 more good wins should see him back in the octagon
good to have dooms day back on the winning road
Worst of all being Ryan “Darth” Vader. (or is his last name Bader?…i forget) Who cares.
it’s Bader… I still think it could be worse… Ryan “master” bader…
Nice
hahahahahahahahahaha
Donald Cerrone needs to change his nickname from Cowboy to Rice. Then he would be Donald “Rice” Cerrone. That would be epic.
Now that would be the best…. LMAO
I would think that since Anderson Silva has torn ass thru most if not all of the MW division, the UFC will be on the lookout for some fresh MW blood.
I would think that a solid prospect like Day should have little trouble working his way back into the UFC by late next year. Also, I would love to see Jason “Mayhem” Miller in the UFC. The 185 division needs someone with a little personality to spark some interest. As talented as Silva is, it gets pretty boring watching him never lose, and wondering if you’re going to get a quality fight out of him.
Dude if cung lee didn’t want to become the next jean claude van damme, then he would be a great match for silva. Doomsday lost to “da spyder”………..i like the dude but he’s got a long arse way to go.
I think with a couple of more wins, goran rejlic could be a threat @ mw.
godd call on “mini cro cop” rejlic jazzy hes realy being forgotten about right now cause of his injuries.
You all are forgetting about Amir Sodollah. He hasn’t lost in…..ever. Does that mean that he deserves a title shot?
No but hes in my top ten P4P
haha i hope you were joking dude
Amazing fighter by far but top 10?? He is definately gonna have to get some more experience and some more wins over quality opponents before going that far lol but regardless I’m a huge fan myself, lets just not get carried away lol
