Brown, Faber, Aldo, and Dikun Earn WEC 41 Bonuses
Mike Brown, Urijah Faber, Jose Aldo, and Seth Dikun each received $10,000 “fight night” bonuses following their bouts on Sunday at WEC 41.
Brown and Faber received “Fight of the Night” honors for their five-round headlining brawl that saw Brown earn a unanimous decision victory.
“Knockout of the Night” went to Aldo for his eight-second flying knee KO of Cub Swanson in the WEC 41 co-main event.
Six fights ended in submission on the WEC 41 card, but it was WEC newcomer Dikun who took home the “Submission of the Night” award by kicking off the WEC 41 card with a flying triangle choke submission of Rolando Perez midway through the opening round of their preliminary contest.

It really was a great card that if I had paid for it I would have not been disappointed one bit! I thought last night that Baneulos-Jorgenson would end up being fight of the night until the main event came on. Big props to both guys to keep bringing like they did, especially since faber was pretty much pulling a “look mom, no hands” after the first two rounds.
Aldo’s knee was just nasty.
The flying triangle(although he did use improper technique once he was on the ground) was a sick thing to see that I definitely did not expect whatsoever from Dikun.
I would have gladly paid to see this PPV-level card. I’m a big submissions guy, and to have 6 fights end in taps was good stuff IMO.
Also, it would have been worth the PPV money for me to see someone actually nail a flying triangle submission. While I freely admit to not being the most well-versed MMA enthusiast, I’ve seen a fair number of fights in the last 13 years or so, and have never seen a flying triangle.
Thanks to Seth Dikun for showing me something I’d never seen before, or had thought possible.
Excellent card, and those bonuses were well-earned and -deserved.
The ole flying triangle is rare… I seem to remember one or two in the early pride days but I may be wrong. I know Royce teaches it even though he never did it.
Only 10k for Faber? How can they expect him to LIVE of that…and his No Fear commercials…and his gym…and his other sponsorships?
thank you for getting that out of the way…
