A bill to legalize and regulate mixed martial arts in New York passed the state’s Committee on Tourism, Parks, Arts and Sports with a 14-6 vote on Wednesday.
The bill must now pass through the state’s Codes Committee, where it is expected to pass with ease, before heading for a final vote on the Assembly floor.

About time…maybe I’ll get a chance to see a card here on Long Island after all.
well once this happens the UFC is litterally going to explode in popularity even more than it is now…
there is so much money and potential in the new york market that it is going to be sickening
if MMA got NY then the fighter pay will be ridiculous
which is a good thing….
Matt Serra is the biggest name from Long Island. Luke Cummo and Pete Sell are from his (and his brother’s) acadamies. It would be crazy to see them at Nassau Colliseum.
Once this happens, just watch the numbers.
