UFC 103 Likely for September 26 in Dallas, Texas
UFC 103, long rumored to take place in the UK, is now expected to be held on September 26th at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
The likely venue was recently confirmed by MMAjunkie with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation’s Combative Sports.
The American Airlines Center, home to the NHL’s Dallas Stars and the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks, can hold more than 21,000 spectators.
A main event has not yet been confirmed for UFC 103, though a fight between The Ultimate Fighter 10 coaches Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Rashad Evans could headline the card if the UFC opts to have it take place before the finale of the season in December.
The UFC’s only previous event in “The Lonestar State”, UFC 69: Shootout, was headlined by Matt Serra’s shocking upset of welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and drew 15,269 fans to the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas for a $2.8 million live gate.

Awesome to see the UFC events going to bigger areana’s and filling the seats. I’m Headed to Porland to 102 at the Rose Garden it has 20k seats. Of course I’ll have front row, should be a good one.
I’ve never been to a live UFC event in a building this size. I’m hoping my first will be at Madison Square Garden someday. Since I can’t afford the really expensive seats, I was wondering what it was like sitting in crumby seats for MMA. Nothing beats an Islander game at Nassau Colliseum, but I can’t picture even being able to see the fight in a cage from 300 level seats.
I doubt that the main event will be jackson and rashad. their obviously going to fight after the season of TUF. Its actually tough to tell who they will have on that card cause all the UFC’s star power is being used up in al the cards before it. It would be to soon of a turnaround for most of those fighters. Moving Lyoto and rua a month sooner would make sense.
Hughes could fight on this card, or Cote’s return, and Kos if he’s healthy. Wanderlei or Rich could be ready to go by September. Other winners from UFC 99 could be ready. Also there could be people available from the TUF 9 finale. Already rumored to be on the card are Escudero v. C. Miller, Yushin Okami, and Hermes Fanca.
ya i guess they’res more than i thought. i was just looking at their real star power. So pretty much it will be a card similar in style to 99.
Any Seat for any UFC is awesome. Best Sporting Event I have ever seen live, my wife and I can’t wait for UFC 100.
I was hoping 103 would come to san antonio, it was rumored for a while. now I gots to make the 3 hour ride on my yamaha r1 to dallas to see rampage ktfo evans.
its good to see the ufc is going to other places than las vegas. I know las vegas is like the hometown, but its good to see them branching to other major cities.
Holy crap man I drive past the American Airlines center everyday when i go to work…I may need to look into some tickets…
may need to rob… I say you should try hard if it fits into your budget to get them. rampage-rashad, maybe machida-shogun on this card. that is a definite buy for people that can fit the tickets into their budget.
American Airlines center has a great view from anywhere in the place, plus the DART rail stops right next to the place so I can get hammered and not drive home.
