After Ian McCall said in a recent media session that he is open to fight John Lineker next. John Lineker fired back and said “I want to fight, not play ‘hide-and-seek”. Well, folks those are fighting words.
“Sign me up. I’ll fight anybody, said McCall. He’s top-five or whatever, and just like tonight, he might hit hard, but he can’t touch me. So, we’ll see how that goes. I think if you look at the (Lineker vs. Ali) Bagautinov fight, he’s got pretty big holes in his wrestling and jiu-jitsu, so that’s a fight I’d love to take.”
John Lineker has 12 knockouts, 3 submissions and 8 decision wins in his MMA career. He has never been knocked out, but submitted 3 times. He has been in the UFC since 2012, but lost in his debut against Louis Gaudinot via Guillotine Choke. He went on a four fight winning streak over fighters: Yasuhiro Urushitani, Azamat Gashimov, Jose Maria Tome and Phil Harris. However, he lost in February of this year against Ali Bagautinov via Unanimous Decision.
Now, Lineker’s turn:
“I have no problem at all with fighting McCall if that’s what the UFC wants to happen. But I would ask my manager to suggest the UFC create a new rule, deducting a point for every so many yards run inside the ring. I want to fight, not play hide-and-seek.”
This could be a possible #1 contender’s fight for the flyweight title.
