Ian McCall (13-4-1 MMA, 2-2-1 UFC) got the nod over Brad Pickett at UFC Fight Night 46 and now looking for his next challenge. What about John Lineker? McCall weighs in on the possible fight:
“Sign me up. I’ll fight anybody. He’s top-five or whatever, and just like tonight, he might hit hard, but he can’t touch me. So, we’ll see how that goes. I think if you look at the (Lineker vs. Ali) Bagautinov fight, he’s got pretty big holes in his wrestling and jiu-jitsu, so that’s a fight I’d love to take.”
John Lineker has 12 knockouts, 3 submissions and 8 decision wins in his MMA career. He has never been knocked out, but submitted 3 times. He has been in the UFC since 2012, but lost in his debut against Louis Gaudinot via Guillotine Choke. He went on a four fight winning streak over fighters: Yasuhiro Urushitani, Azamat Gashimov, Jose Maria Tome and Phil Harris. However, he lost in February of this year against Ali Bagautinov via Unanimous Decision.
This could be a possible #1 contender’s fight for the flyweight title.
