UFC Signs Mike Russow, Debut Slated for UFN 19
The UFC has signed heavyweight Mike Russow to a four-fight contract, according to NWI.com, with his debut slated for UFC Fight Night 19 on September 16 against an opponent to-be-determined.
Russow (11-1), a Chicago police officer, defeated Roman Zentsov at Yarennoka! in December 2007 then headlined Adrenaline MMA’s first event, defeating journeyman Jason Guida via first-round submission. He was last in action in December, defeating Braden Bice at Affliction 2 via first-round submission. A winner of seven-straight, Russow’s lone loss came against Sergei Kharitonov at PRIDE 33 in early-2007.
UFN 19 is expected to take place at the Cox Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and will air live on Spike TV as the lead-in for the debut of The Ultimate Fighter 10: Heavyweights. Russow is the first rumored participant for the card.

Forget Russow, let’s get Kharitonov into the UFC. I’ve never seen destruction like in his beating of Semmy Schilt.
his loss to monson makes that less than appealing but agreed on the schilt fight
Maybe Monson can take care of his legal issues, and grow up enough to stay out of the future and find his way back into the UFC.
I think monson would be entertaining but I’m not sure howd he’d do w/ that class growing literally
Edit from earlier: stay out of trouble in the future*
Chrisl,
Agreed. My point is, out of Russow, Kharitonov and Monson, Monson is the most likely to succeed right now. Russow may have future potential though.
honestly I’m surprised to hear of any potential heavyweights being signed that are “non-stars” yet since TUF is coming up I agree on Russow in the future. Monson could and would cause trouble for any of the wrestlers no doubt. Against the big strikers and larger guys he just lacks the bulk!
