UFC Signs Mike Russow, Debut Slated for UFN 19

Mike RussowThe UFC has signed heavyweight Mike Russow to a four-fight contract, according to, with his debut slated for UFC Fight Night 19 on September 16 against an opponent to-be-determined.

Russow (11-1), a Chicago police officer, defeated Roman Zentsov at Yarennoka! in December 2007 then headlined Adrenaline MMA’s first event, defeating journeyman Jason Guida via first-round submission. He was last in action in December, defeating Braden Bice at Affliction 2 via first-round submission. A winner of seven-straight, Russow’s lone loss came against Sergei Kharitonov at PRIDE 33 in early-2007.

UFN 19 is expected to take place at the Cox Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and will air live on Spike TV as the lead-in for the debut of The Ultimate Fighter 10: Heavyweights. Russow is the first rumored participant for the card.
