Brian Ebersole vs. John Howard To Meet At UFC 178

Two Welterweight’s have been added to UFC 178, Brian Ebersole (50-16-1 MMA, 4-2 UFC) and John Howard (22-9 MMA, 6-4 UFC) will meet at the event.

Brian Ebersole (50-16) Has fourteen knockouts, 20 submissions and 16 wins by decision. Prior to joining the UFC, he was on a seven fight winning streak. He made his UFC debut against Chris Lytle, which he won via unanimous decision at UFC 127 – Penn vs. Fitch on Feb / 27 / 2011. He would go on to win his next three fights over Dennis Hallman, Claude Patrick and T.J. Waldburger. In his last two fights prior to UFC 178, he dropped two straight fights. He lost to James Head via split decision at UFC 149 – Faber vs. Barao on Jul / 21 / 2012 and then Rick Story via unanimous decision at UFC 167 – St. Pierre vs. Hendricks on Nov / 16 / 2013.

John Howard (22-9) Has nine knockouts, six submissions and seven decision victories. Prior to joining the UFC, he was 6-1 in his last seven. He made his UFC debut against Uriah Hall, which he won via split decision at UFC Fight Night – Shogun vs. Sonnen on Aug / 17 / 2013. He would then beat Siyar Bahadurzada via unanimous decision at UFC 168 – Weidman vs. Silva 2 on Dec / 28 / 2013, but would lose to Ryan LaFlare via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night – Minotauro vs. Nelson on Apr / 11 / 2014.

UFC 178 takes place Sept. 27 in Las Vegas, Nevada live on pay-per-view. The main event will be a rematch from a classic fight between Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson.
