Report: More Than 10,000 Tickets Already Sold for UFC 101
More than 10,000 tickets have already been sold for UFC 101: Declaration on August 8th at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia since going on sale last week, according to a report from the Newark Star-Ledger.
Tickets for the pay-per-view event, which features BJ Penn vs. Kenny Florian and Anderson Silva vs. Forrest Griffin, first went on sale to UFC Fight Club members on Thursday, then UFC Newsletter subscribers on Friday, before being available to the general public beginning on Saturday.
$50, $100, and $200 tickets have been sold out since Friday, with only $300, $400, and $600 tickets remaining at the time of writing.

Man people in Phiily are sure excited to see a new Lightweight Champion crowned, and they’re excited to finally see Anderson Silva get his a$$ kicked.
I would also be shelling out the big bucks to check this out.

Silva will win and he’s probability the only one who could beat Lyoto Machida. Yes, anything can happen on any given night, but I don’t see Forrest winning (and I’m a fan of Forrest too).

I’m a fan of both guys. Griffin is way bigger and stronger than Silva, Silva is faster,but Griffin is just as technical as Silva. Silva hasn’t fought a guy who is as smart as he is in the octagon, Griffin can challenge him standing and on the ground.
Standing, Silva has ko power,but he doesn’t have one punch or one kick ko power, it usually take more than one strike for him to put a guy away and Grffin was able to survive a few hard shots from Rampage who has way more power than Silva. Griffin i think is too big for Silva to hold on the clinch, and if it does go to the ground, Griffin has good ground control, good defense and good subs, i know Silva has a good ground game as well but don’t forget that Travis fu*king Lutter mounted him…..TRAVIS LUTTER!!!! Come on, LUTTER!!, so Griffin has a pretty darn good shot at beating Silva.

I bet Lutter bjj is better thans Griffin is!! {NOTICE I said Bjj Not a better fighter but has better bjj) Lutter had no heart or cardio nor could he take a punch, but his bjj got him majority of his ufc wins!
And as far as A. Silva not fighting anyone as smart or strong or ring savy I guess you dont consider Dan henderson prides MW & LHW champ just as smart or strong as A. Silva and he got dealt with as well!
Griffin did very well against Rampage, and Rampage has a lot or power yes but he doesnot use his power in all area’s like A. Silva does with crisp combinations of leg Kicks straight punches and elbows and knees and decent bjj.
Rampage uses his power in his punches and limited slams {here lately} He has become basicly Mike Tyson in mma.
1 last thing my homie is I see you changed your predictions to the 3rd round rather than that riddiculos TKO 1st rd or 2nd rd so your slowly begining to see the light somewhat ehhh young jedi!!

haha dude your funny, although i am no Jedi Knight, i do see what your point is. I didn’t forget about Dan Henderson, he fought smart in the first round vs. A. Silva, but in the 2nd he got a littel careless which is why he was choked out. Griffin’s JJ is really good, and good enough to put a sub on Silva. People also forget that Forrest can push the pace and he doesn’t get tired because of his awesome cardio which Silva doesn’t have. Like i said before, it’s quite simple, Griffin has faced the best at 205, he’s bigger,stronger and has better leg kicks than Silva. I honestly don’t see Silva beating Griffin, Griffin is not James Irvin or Travis Fu*king Lutter. You are right though, i did change my original prediction from 1st round tko to 3rd, and the reason for that is that both guys wanna give a good fight, and to be honest, Forrst will pick him apart first then finish him.

I agree with you Griffin can push the pace and he is definitely not Irvin nor TRAVIS LUTTER!!! But my Friend A. Silva is no K. Jardine nor Rashad Evans!!!! And when have you seen A.Silva get tired??? This is the most dangerous guy in mma especially when pushed.
Dan Hendo didn’t get carless he got rocked in the 2nd several times and got pounded on the ground too and I dont know about you but usually when some one knocks your noggin really hard you tend to not only lose focus but awarness and concentration and sometimes conciousness!! You do however get a good night sleep though.

bj penn likes to talk crap alot but i do believe that he is still gonna win. he just had a loss hes gonna be hungry to keep his belt and keep it in an exciting fashion bj by sub or tko. Ya anderson silva is good but i dont think he has ever faced as good conditioned and as good of a technical striker as forrest griffin forrest just lost his belt hes gonna be ready for this one definitely griffin by sub or unannimous decision
After florian becomes champion i want to see him rematch diego and beat the **** out of him. Diego sanchez is one of those dudes who swears he’s the **** and that he’s “evolved” but really, he’s just an ok fighter. His striking is way mediocre, as is his foot work. His stand up overall is whatever, he’s just another wrestler/grappler who’s got decent subs and good ground and pound. Not very “evolved” if you ask me.

I agree with you 100%. That is what Joe Silva has to have in the back of his head. Diego vs. Kenflo at 155 lbs. I say Kenflo is one of those fighters that adapts and has evolved more than anyone else in the game. His elbows are still there, but his Muay Thai is on another level now. He’s so well rounded that he will give Diego nightmares in the ring. Ha.
